The Ichabod
Washburn University’s men’s athletic teams are called Ichabods, and their college mascot, too. It’s not related to Sleepy Hollows’ Ichabod Crane but is actually the name of the school’s early benefactor, Ichabod Washburn. But it doesn’t negate the fact that the mascot, with its pale skin color, reddish-brown eyebrows and comical eyes, looks creepy.
