Artie the Fighting Artichoke
Scottsdale Community College chose this ridiculous mascot and name. However, there is a good story behind it. In the 70s, the school administration used the scholarship money meant for students of Native American descent to lure athletes to enroll in the school. As a protest, the students chose the most ridiculous name that would be a badge of shame for the school.
