1935 Florida Keys Labor Day Hurricane
This was the strongest storm ever to hit America on record. Its winds topped out at 200 mph and brought massive rainfall to the Florida Keys. It killed 400 people along its path. The bad part was that most of those who perished were veteran servicemen from World War I. It was not given a particular name and is simply known as ‘labor Day Hurricane’. It did not help that weather systems then were in its initial stages yet.
