The New Jersey Nets have always had problems with either their name or them being the second team in New York. They started the 2009-10 season with 18 straight losses, the first time this happened to any NBA team. They were in the running for the worst win-loss record for most of the season, tying records for 30 games (2-28), first 40 losses (3-43), and 50 games (4-46). They ended the season at 12-70 win-loss record (0.146).
