Peter the Anteater
UC Irvine claimed the anteater as their mascot. It’s said that it was conceived due to “Zot, zot, zot,” the unique chant of UC Irvine students during games. In the comic strip B.C., the anteater makes that exact same sound. However, anteaters are not found anywhere in the U.S.
